Are you getting your AC repaired anytime soon? Have you always wondered how your AC unit worked? Having basic knowledge about your unit can make getting repairs a little easier for you and your AC repair person. Here are 3 basics about your unit for Orlando residential AC repair.

There are three important components to your AC unit. Knowing these pieces will help you better understand your Orlando residential AC repair.

The Compressor

The compressor does a lot of the heavy work for your HVAC system. It is the part of your AC unit located outside your home. Its function is to compress the gas into a liquid which helps cool the air.

The Evaporator

The evaporator function is to use this now ‘compressed’ liquid refrigerant and push it through the evaporator coil. A fan then distributes air across the evaporator coil which has been cooled by the refrigerant liquid.

This coolant helps remove heat from the air. This now ‘cooled air’ is then blown throughout your home. This refrigerant liquid turns back into a gas.

The Condenser

The condenser then receives the gas from the evaporator and converts it back into a liquid, where the process begins again.

Knowing this information will help you when it comes to figuring out any issues or concerns you may have with your AC unit. Your AC unit can have an issue with one of these components. For example, you may have a faulty compressor. If anyone of these components fails to work, you will know it.

Having a little knowledge about how your system works can go a long way when it comes to understanding your unit.
