How can I prolong the life of my AC?

Proper care of the cooling equipment keeps your AC unit efficient, and with our maintenance packages, you will eliminate costly repairs.

Most cooling systems need very little maintenance, however, operating the unit while it’s dirty can cause damages. Here are a few things our Meadow Woods air conditioning experts recommend you do, to prevent the damaging the unit:

  • Trim shrubs or bushes near the unit. Trimming will help avoid any blockage in the air flow.

  • Make sure the outdoor coil is free from leaves, grass clippings, and other debris.

  • Make sure the indoor unit filters and blower are clean.

What is zoning?

Zoning divides your home into separate comfort areas and uses your comfort equipment to cool or heat only areas that need it. For example, a room with large windows may be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Zoning will send cooler air to that room to make up for the heat gained or lost through the windows.

Zoning is great for the families that have different cooling needs in the home. There may be a room in your house that needs more cooling air throughout the day but not at night. Whatever the situation, zoning can keep each area of your home comfortable for each family member.

Should my AC be noisy?

Until recently, noisy air conditioners and heat pumps were the accepted as the norm. In the past, high noise levels were associated with the “strength” of the HVAC system. Most systems manufactured today are quieter than those made in the past years. There is still a significant difference in the sound levels of models on the market today.

Lennox designs each AC unit to be as quiet as possible. Lennox has come up with many features that make their units some of the quietest available.

Your home or business is one of your most important investments. Regular maintenance will ensure that your system runs quietly and efficiently, minimizing air conditioning repairs, therefore saving money on your utility bills and keeping you comfortable no matter the weather.
